We are convinced that prioritizing Agriculture is the key solution not only to solve the problems of “food shortage” and “staple food importation”, but for economic recovery. The Philippines being an agricultural economy has the potential to produce food that is enough, first, to feed its population, and then, export to other countries to boost wealth generation and economic recovery.

Mindoro Island is one of the government’s best options for large-scale “food production and food processing.”
The Agro-Industrial economic zone will promote Oriental Mindoro as an emerging partner in the food production and basic commodities to solve the food security problem of our country.
Agro Tourism
Farm Tourism or Agro-Tourism is also a great addition to the agriculture sector. This can bring added value to farmers in terms of knowledge and income and at the same time generate more jobs. Most destination farms in the Philippines are practicing eco-friendly approaches to farming and focusing on sustainability and tourism promotions. This is an inclusive and effective way for rural development to progress. As a farm is developed, cultivated and promoted as an agro-tourism destination, it adds employment opportunities for people in the area and at the same time takes good care of the environment which is a good practice that helps promote both agriculture and tourism.
Oriental Mindoro is at the center of the Philippines, close to Metro Manila and CALABARZON. It is the gateway between Luzon and Visayas, and Mindanao through the 24-hour Roll-On, Roll Off facilities using the Nautical Highway.
The province evokes images of tropical paradise - white sand, clear blue waters, pink corals, roaring waterfalls, lush green forests covering majestic mountains. Tourism is one biggest generator of revenue, livelihood and income opportunities. The Province is gifted with picturesque tourism sites that are rarely available in other provinces and in other parts of the world.
Oriental Mindoro is touted as the country's emerging eco-tourism destination. In 2005, the Philippines was found to be the center of marine fish biodiversity and the home of the most diverse marine ecosystem in the world.
